House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez must pursue to reshuffle the committee chairmanship of the members of the super majority coalition that voted against the Death Penalty Reimposition Bill.

This was  according to Magdalo Representative Gary Alejano.

Alejano argued that discontinuing the reshuffle might affect the credibility of the leadership in the Lower House.

“When he did not implement it, we are all ordinary citizens, you don’t honor your word, especially that you hold an important post in the government”, he said.

It also turned out that Speaker Alvarez only threatened lawmakers to get the majority vote on his proposed bill.

“I think they must honor their word because those who stand to against to vote regardless of the consequences, they know they are all threatened, they are threatened that they will be removed if they vote no, and they are ready for that”, said Representative Alejano.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez said that the reshuffle will pursue but he leaves the implementation of it to House majority floor leader Rodolfo Fariñas

There are two more priority bills that the administration want to push in Congress, one of them is the tax reform and the lowering of the age of criminal liability.

Alejano said that if the administration wants the Congress to support the said bill the leadership must stand on its principle. – Mon Jocson |  UNTV News and Rescue
