A 50-year-old man charged with the murder of a woman was taken by police back to the scene of the crime on Wednesday morning (1 November).

Krishnan Raju was escorted by officers to the Loyang Gardens condominium on Jalan Loyang Besar where he allegedly killed 44-year-old Raithena Vaithena Samy last Thursday (26 October). The victim is believed to be Krishnan’s wife.

She was said to have been found lying motionless in the bedroom of the condominium unit and was pronounced dead by paramedics at 12.25am. Yahoo News Singapore understands that she was found with multiple stab wounds.

Wearing a red polo shirt and blue shorts, Krishnan was brought back to the scene in hand and leg restraints. He kept his head bowed while inside the police vehicle.

Arriving at the condominium at about 12pm, Krishnan was then escorted into the unit. Officers from the police forensics team were also present at the scene. In total, the officers spent over an hour and a half with Krishnan within the condominium compound.

According to media reports, Krishnan was arrested at Woodlands Checkpoint on Friday morning, about 10 hours after the incident. He was charged with murder last Saturday and will be back in court on Friday. If convicted of murder, he will face the death penalty.
