IPOH: A store supervisor at the Royal Malaysian Navy headquarters in Lumut was charged with two counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT) over the misappropriation of RM702,000 worth of diesel in Sept and Dec last year.

Rosdan Ismail, 38, who was represented by lawyer N. P. Ramachandran, claimed trial to the charges under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which carries a 20-year jail term and whipping upon conviction.

Rosdan is alleged to have allowed Indonesian Dudhy Ardhyanto, 38, to store 200,000 litres of diesel worth RM328,000, instead of channelling it to BFI 2 from a cargo ship at the base's depot on Sept 22 at 10.30am.

On the second charge, he was accused of embezzling 200,000 litres of diesel with a total loss of RM374,000 at the same location on Dec 3 at 7.30am.

Dudhy, who was not represented, was charged with two counts of abetment under Section 109 of the Penal Code, which was read together with Section 409.

He pleaded guilty to both charges.

Judge Norashima Khalid ordered a RM30,000 bail, with one surety, and set April 11 for mention and sentencing.
