Lupita Nyong’o turned the streets of New York City into a literal catwalk.

The 41-year-old wore leopard print slingback pumps while in the midtown area of New York City on June 19 promoting her latest film “A Quiet Place: Day One.” The pointed-toe shoes have a low black heel with crystal embellishments measuring approximately 3 inches. The insole of the shoe is black and there’s a coordinating leopard strap that wraps around the back of the ankle to hold the shoe in place. The sole of the shoe is a light tan color.

Nyong’o opted for a matching satin, spaghetti strap dress with the same animal print mixed with black lace. She wore dark aviator sunglasses and held a black leather bag as she smiled and waved. In some photographs, you can see her co-star Joseph Quinn walking alongside her as the two held a conversation.

The actress plays Sam in the third installment of the horror film series as she tries to survive an invasion in New York City by bloodthirsty alien creatures with ultrasonic hearing. The film is directed by Michael Sarnoski and based on a story by John Krasinski. After being pushed three times, it will be released in theaters June 28 and stars other names like Dijmon Hounsou and Alex Wolff.

Nyong’o is a lover of the animals, clearly. This month, she graced the cover of Glamour in a leopard print dress with a loose hood. She also wore a Dolce & Gabbana leopard print fitted dress with a slit near the leg to a screening of “Candyman” in 2021 with black open-toe slide heels and a leopard, long sleeve jumpsuit with color blocked gold and black pumps and a tan colored hat with ears while working on a press day for her latest film in April.

In 1957, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel introduced the world to the two-tone slingback pump, however, its been around since the 1940s when sultry ankle straps and exposed heels were introduced on pin-up girls. The shoes often feature a heel in a variety of sizes with a strap that makes the shoe secure.
