China has suspended regular communication channels with the US military, as well as climate talks between the world’s two largest economies, in retaliation for US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan this week. The Chinese foreign ministry declaration came after the country’s military sent planes and warships to probe Taiwan’s defences for a second day. Taiwan’s defence ministry said 68 Chinese military aircraft and 13 warships operated in the Taiwan Strait on Friday.
