MAC Cosmetics Has 3 New Lipsticks, and Every Cent Goes to COVID-19 Relief Efforts
MAC Cosmetics is directing its VIVA Glam campaign, which first launched in 1994, towards COVID-19 relief efforts. The cosmetics company is dedicating $10 million towards the coronavirus pandemic efforts, and you can help with the initiative by doing a little lipstick shopping.
As part of the VIVA Glam campaign, MAC has released three lipsticks ($19 each) to benefit the program. Every year, there is a new collection of lipsticks to go along with the campaign, so on top of being for a good cause, you get to try some fresh looks. When you buy VIVA GLAM I, VIVA GLAM II, or VIVA GLAM III, 100% of the selling price goes towards the efforts for 250 organizations on the front line of the pandemic around the world.
VIVA GLAM I: matte intense brownish blue-red
VIVA GLAM II: satin creamy subdued pinkish-beige mauve
VIVA GLAM III: matte muted brownish-plum
“VIVA GLAM has never been about one cause, but about support to vulnerable communities,” John Demsey, chairman of the MAC VIVA GLAM FUND and executive group president, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., said in a press release. “It was created many years ago simply as a hardship fund for people who needed safety nets.”
In the 26 years that the campaign has been around, it has raised $500 million. The money that is raised from the latest initiative will goes toward efforts that include delivering food supplies, ensuring clients remain informed and on medication, and testing and treating diagnosed cases, especially in those who are immunocompromised.
The good news is that you’ll have plenty of time to shop. The three VIVA GLAM lipsticks will be available on MAC’s website permanently, so you just might find a new favorite lip out of it.
