Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade
is marching ahead with special measures
Location: New York
Instead of passing through Manhattan
the parade will be a television-only event
There will be giant character balloons and floats
but no children and no spectators

"I think this year, more than ever, it's really important that we still have something for everybody to tune into on Thanksgiving morning. You know, with everything that's going on, what we really need right now is a little bit of hope and a little bit of entertainment and relief from what we're going through."
