Madhuri Dixit rejected!

22 Dec – This holiday season does not seem to bode well for Bollywood's leading actress, Madhuri Dixit, whose offers to perform at hotels during New Year's Eve were repeatedly rejected, according to Masala.

According to a source, 44-year-old Madhuri, who was recently relocated to Mumbai, was very keen to perform for her fans on New Year's Eve. It is also a known fact that actresses and stars such as Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have been offered millions to perform their popular numbers at five star hotel bashes.

However, when her manager made inquiries to several event management companies and set up meetings with organizers, they were unfruitful attempts.

The source revealed, "It was an awkward situation. Madhuri told them she wanted to dance to a medley of her hit songs but the organisers felt that New Year Eve's performances weren't about old Bollywood numbers or the Saroj Khan school of dance which Madhuri is known for but more about sex appeal and item numbers. Still they couldn't admit this to Madhuri, so they told her that they had issues with money."

The actress' manager, Rikku Rakesh Nath, denied the story and said that Madhuri is actually going on a vacation with her family. He further claimed it was she who had turned down offers to perform at parties.

On another note, Mallika Sherawat has managed to cut a neat deal of one crore Indian rupees for a 30-minute performance!

Driving a $900,000 Porsche 918 Spyder to the future

It’s more than just its inherent speed, or the whooshing noise that fills the cabin like a school choir jamming with James Hetfield. It’s what it represents in an industry full of skeptics. It’s a portal into the future – a time capsule left by some mad scientist born decades too soon. It’s something that shouldn’t exist. And yet it does.
