MAFS Australia viewers cringe over Rupert and Evelyn

We’re obsessed with the latest season of Married At First Sight Australia. The dating series sees single people matched by experts to partners who they then meet for the first time on their wedding day, and so far, it’s been dramatic.

From breakups to cheating rumours and now, new couple Evelyn Ellis and Rupert Budgen have joined the show but fans are cringing over their first meeting.

On last night’s (28th March) episode, new couple Evelyn and Rupert joined the experiment and met for the first time on their wedding day.

Evelyn, a 27-year-old model from New South Wales, looked so stunning as she walked down the aisle and Rupert, 27-year-old electrician from Queensland, was pretty nervous.

Firstly, he dropped their wedding rings then he could barely get his words out as they shared their vows and couldn't find their rings – poor guy!

Viewers took to Twitter to share their reactions to the very awkward wedding.

“Has anyone EVER been as nervous as Rupert?” one viewer asked. “Watching Rupert on MAFSAU is one of the hardest things I’ve had to sit through. The cringe is so strong,” wrote another.

“I mean I know she is hot Rupert but I mean pull yourself together man and I don’t know, speak???” said another viewer.

“How did Rupert pass the screen test?” and “Is it possible to die of second hand embarrassment?” wrote other fans of the series.

To be fair, it must be super terrifying and nerve-wracking to meet your wife for the first time on your wedding day, so we can understand Rupert’s shyness.
