Maid of honor’s 'speech' sets the internet ablaze: 'I'm getting secondhand embarrassment'

·2-min read

Giving the maid of honor speech at a wedding is a lot of pressure. Some opt for tearful tributes, but others prefer to stay on the sillier side of things.

The official account for Kyle Tyndall Films, a wedding videographer in North Carolina, shared footage of a maid of honor speech that was a bit unconventional.

“Best speech ever. This was a fun time for sure,” the caption said.

In the video, maid of honor Lindsey Ann Jarman performed a tribute to the bride, who is also her sister, to the tune of “Under the Sea” from the movie “The Little Mermaid.”

“My best friend, she just got married. This day has been so much fun. We all know you love the spotlight, but I’m not even halfway done,” Jarman says in a sing-song voice over the tune. “Haleigh’s married, Haleigh’s married — she beat me to it, but I think we knew it, she wouldn’t let me go first.”

Jarman’s performance, which Kyle Tyndall Films shared on its YouTube page, goes on for 10 minutes. She also parodies “Be Our Guest” from “Beauty and the Beast”, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from “The Lion King” and other Disney songs.

TikTok users had strong reactions to Jarman’s speech.

“I’m getting secondhand embarrassment,” one wrote.

gotta blast,”

“This SCREAMS passive aggressive,” a third wrote.

Others were impressed with her work.

“I would never have enough confidence to do this,” one user said.

So beautiful!,”

One thing is for sure — this was a wedding the guests will never forget.
