A 34-year-old pedestrian died in hospital Thursday after he was struck by a vehicle in North York, Toronto police say.

The collision happened just before 7 a.m. on the westbound Highway 401 off-ramp to Keele Street, according to police.

The man was rushed with critical injuries to hospital, where he died a short time later.

In a news release on Friday, police said a 67-year-old woman driving a grey 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe on the off-ramp struck the man as she made a right turn to travel north onto Keele Street. The man was crossing Keele Street north of the off-ramp when he was hit.
