Malo Gusto: Chelsea star injured as Enzo Maresca delivers Reece James update

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed Malo Gusto will miss Saturday’s Premier League clash with West Ham.

The defender was ruled out of their win at Bournemouth last weekend after suffering a thigh injury against Crystal Palace earlier this month.

Gusto will not be available for the trip across the capital, leaving Maresca short at right-back.

Captain Reece James is yet to feature this season and remains out of action.

Speaking of James, Maresca told Friday’s pre-match press conference: “The most important thing for him and any injury is that they come back when they’re 100 per cent fit. Reece is still out.”

"We don't have an idea at the moment [when he'll be back]. We hope we can find the right solution and have him back as soon as possible."

Chelsea will have Enzo Fernandez and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall available for the game after they missed the 1-0 victory at Bournemouth.
