Man, 29, charged for fatal assault on sister at Clementi flat
SINGAPORE — A 29-year-old man was charged in court on Thursday (6 May) over the death of his 19-year-old sister.
Huang Bocan, a Singaporean, was handed one charge of voluntarily causing grievous hurt to Huang Baoying, by hitting her with a wooden pole, at unit of a HDB block along Clementi West Street 1 on Tuesday at about 11pm.
The court heard that Huang was on five days of medical leave and will be remanded for a week after that period.
He will return to court on 12 May.
The police was alerted to the case of unnatural death at about 6.30am at a residential unit along Clementi West Street 1 on Wednesday.
Officers who arrived on scene found the woman lying motionless. She was pronounced dead at scene. The man was arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years, and a fine or caning.
