SINGAPORE — A 27-year-old man who was last week charged with grievously hurting a nine-month-old baby boy inside a van at a multi-storey car park in Yishun was on Friday (15 November) accused of killing the infant.

According to his charge, Mohamed Aliff Mohamed Yusoff, a Singaporean, caused the death of Izz Fayyaz Zayani Ahmad sometime between 10pm last Thursday and 12.15am last Friday at the multi-storey car park at Block 840A Yishun Street 81.

No other details of the alleged murder were given.

Aliff will continue to be remanded at the Central Police Division with permission to be taken out to assist in investigations. The case will be mentioned in court again next Friday.

Aliff was first charged in court last Saturday (9 November) and accused of slamming the victim’s head against the floor board of a van at the carpark.

The infant reportedly died last Friday and was buried on Sunday.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the baby was the son of the accused’s girlfriend.

If found guilty of his murder charge, Aliff faces the death penalty, or life behind bars with caning.
