A man was charged in court on Tuesday (19 Sept) on four counts of mischief for putting toothpicks into bus seats with the pointed ends sticking out.

Lim Lye Seng, 60, allegedly committed the offenses four times this year between July and August on bus number 123M along Lower Delta Road.

A passenger on the bus posted about the incident on Facebook on 22 July. The cost of the damage to the bus seats was over $1,300, according to a Straits Times report.

Lim said he would plead guilty to his offences, and will be back in court on 27 Sept.

He could be jailed up to a year and fined for each count of mischief.
