A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly having sex in public outside Orchard Towers, said the police in a news release on Thursday (2 August).

At about 12.16am on 22 July, the police received a report of a man and woman having sexual intercourse along the pavement of Claymore Drive.

With the aid of CCTV footage, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on Wednesday. Police are still working to establish the identity of the woman.

A video of the act, filmed by a bystander, was widely circulated online last month. In it, several unknown persons can be heard cheering on the couple.

Those found guilty of committing an obscene act in a public place face a jail term of up to three months, a fine, or both.
