Man injured after being attacked with a weapon in Yishun

A 21-year-old man was injured after he was attacked with a weapon in Yishun on Sunday (2 April) night.

In response to a query by Yahoo Singapore, the police said they received a call at 7.49 pm on Sunday about a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons at Block 145 Yishun Street 11.

The police did not disclose the weapon used in the attack. The victim was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and investigations are ongoing, the police added. Yahoo Singapore understands that the man was conscious after the attack.

This correspondent, who was in the vicinity an hour after the attack, saw a group of police investigators gathering evidence at the scene. A part of the void deck at the block was cordoned off as investigators were seen taking pictures and talking to residents.

A resident, who did not want to be identified, said that he heard a commotion while he was at home and went downstairs to take a look. The resident saw a man who was hurt and another man who ran away from the scene.
