Man charged with bribing nurse to record he had taken 2nd COVID vaccine shot
SINGAPORE — A man is accused of offering a bribe to a nurse, in order to have her record that he had taken his second COVID-19 vaccination dose when he had not.
Kelvin Tan Li Ming, 34, was charged with one count of corruption on Thursday (13 January).
The Singaporean is said to have offered a $50 bribe to a part-time vaccination nurse at Healthway Vaccination Centre at Chua Chu Kang Community Club on 26 October last year.
The bribe was allegedly for the nurse to record that Tan had been administered his second Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccination dose in the system, when he had not taken it.
The nurse rejected the bribe.
Tan's case is fixed for a pre-trial conference on 17 February. If convicted, he may be jailed up to five years and/or fined up to $100,000.
