A 43-year-old man will be charged with committing vandalism in several places in the Bugis area.

In a statement on Friday (28 April), the police said they received several reports on Monday of graffiti being scrawled on the facades of National Design Centre, Fu Lu Shou Complex, The Prospex, OG Albert and Bugis+ Shopping Centre.

Upon investigation, with the aid of CCTV images, the suspect was arrested along Hougang Ave 8 on Thursday. A marker pen, a bicycle and some clothing were seized.

The man will be charged on Saturday with the offence of vandalism. If convicted, he faces up to a $2,000 fine or three years in jail, and between three strokes and eight strokes of caning.
