Man struck and killed by vehicle in North York, police say

A man was struck and killed by a driver in North York early Monday, Toronto police say.

The collision happened around 6:10 a.m. near Steeles Avenue W. at Klondike Drive, police said in a news release Monday evening.

A man, 51, was crossing Steeles Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle, the release said.

He suffered critical injuries and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, a 51-year-old woman, remained at the scene, police said.

Anyone who has security or dash camera footage of the crash is asked to contact police.
