Manchester United target Jadon Sancho has been included in Borussia Dortmund’s pre-season training camp after the two sides failed to agree a fee for the England international.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains determined to land his No1 target, with United’s hierarchy always refusing to be rushed over negotiations with German giants.

It’s understood United never considered Dortmund’s ‘artificial’ deadline to be a serious barrier to bringing Sancho to Old Trafford.

Both clubs have been locked in talks over what is expected to be the biggest transfer of the current window.

But the two sides remain miles apart in terms of their valuations, with United considering Dortmund’s £108million asking price to be unrealistic following the financial impact of Covid-19.

They are reluctant to pay in excess of £70million for any target this summer.

A highly-incentivised and installment-based deal could see that figure rise, but United remain adamant they won’t go as high as £108million.

Sancho is also believed to have his heart set on a move, while Dortmund have made it clear they are prepared to sell.

The fact that there is eagerness on all sides to reach agreement is expected to see a deal go through.

Sancho was spotted in London over the weekend, raising speculation that talks were nearing a breakthrough. But he returned to join up with the rest of Dortmund’s squad to fly to a training camp in Bad Ragaz.

The Germans’ preference was always to have his future sorted before that camp, but it’s understood United were never explicitly told during negotiations that a deal would be dead if they could not reach agreement before that date.
