Manchester United and England midfield Jesse Lingard has opened up over his experience in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic.

Premier League football is expected to return on June 17, exactly 100 days since the left top-flight action, meaning footballers have had much more time on their hands.

"The team WhatsApp still is the main way, every day the lads will chat, share funny memes or videos to keep people entertained," he said.

"Face Time, Zoom and House party is another way we've been able to do lots of video calls and stuff, we've always Face-Timed before so not much has changed in that way."

He added: "I've tried to do some reading ... we've gotten so much better in the kitchen. The PS4 gets played a fair bit, fair few of the boys play COD online so we get to play as a team and that’s always good fun when we play together."

As lockdown restrictions begin to be eased across the country, with young children expected to be allowed to see their grandparents this month, Lingard is looking forward to family reunions.

"See the family [is the first thing I will do]," he said. "I've missed not being able to see them properly, we face time often but not being allowed to actually spend time proper quality time with them in the house has been tough."

Lingard is one the a number of footballers who have opened their homes during the coronavirus pandemic to record socially-distances episodes of 'MTV Cribs'

He said: "I’ve been a massive fan of MTV Cribs since I was a kid and so I’m really excited to be a part of this Footballers themed edition.

"I’m most looking forward to showing everyone how I’ve been keeping active and entertained during lockdown!"

'MTV Cribs: Footballers Stay at Home' launches at 8.30pm on Monday June 1 on MTV.
