Man Utd sources reveal Ten Hag threats and Sir Alex treatment after Liverpool mauling
Erik ten Hag made his Manchester United players endure the Liverpool celebrations after their embarrassing defeat, before channeling Sir Alex Ferguson in the away dressing room on Sunday.
The United boss insisted his players sit in silence and listen to the Liverpool players going crazy, telling them to use it as motivation to avoid future capitulations.
Ten Hag then echoed Ferguson’s famous hairdryer treatment as he ‘tore into his players’ and explained to them that they were fortunate to be returning to Manchester on the team bus and not forced to travel back with the angry supporters, according to the Daily Mirror.
The inquest into the defeat is said to have started early the next morning at the Carrington training complex.

A United source said: “Ten Hag was obviously furious and told them they were lucky to be getting on the team bus back to Old Trafford and not made to travel back with the fans.
“He warned them all that if anything like that happens again, there won’t be another chance for them and they’ll be put in the Under-21s.”
Ten Hag also told his players to expect more sessions with sports psychologist Rainer Koers, who was hired to improve the players’ mentality a few months ago.
The United source added: “Ten Hag doesn’t want the players going back to the bad days of last season, so that’s why he wants them to work more with the sports psychologist.”
Ten Hag said after the game: “The result is quite obvious. It’s unprofessional.
“But I think it’s a huge difference in Brentford (in August). We were 4-0 down at half-time, so we started the game very bad.
“Today, first half, I think we were the better team. First half, we created the better chances and we had two one-on-ones with the goalie and they hadn’t.
“Then before half-time we make one mistake (in terms of) organisation and we concede a goal, so I think we were in the game.
“So, it was really a surprise for me that after half-time we so quickly gave the game away.”
