Man who allegedly posted on Instagram of him sniffing panties further remanded for psychiatric observation
SINGAPORE — A man who allegedly uploaded several posts on social media of him sniffing stolen female undergarments was on Wednesday (4 September) ordered to be remanded for psychiatric observation for three more weeks.
Lim Wei Ming, 34, who was first charged last month and has been in remand for psychiatric evaluation since then, will return to court on 25 September.
Lim allegedly uploaded the photos on his Instagram account on 15 August. He was arrested the next day for his suspected involvement in a case of public nuisance, the police said in a news release.
One of the posts Lim allegedly put up was of a pair of stolen black shorts, along with a caption claiming that he had ejaculated on it and hung it back where he took it at Choa Chu Kang Street 51.
“This is three days’ worth of load,” the caption said.
Another post Lim allegedly put up showed himself in Tampines with a pink female undergarment in his front shirt pocket.
The photos have since been taken down.
After he was arrested, he also uploaded an Instagram story post, tagged under “Holding Cell” with the caption: “Will be updating, follow to find out.” The post is also no longer available.
The maximum punishment for being a public nuisance is a fine of up to $1,000.
