Manchester United fans vow to #EmptyOldTrafford vs Liverpool in latest anti-Glazer protest

Manchester United fans have threatened to boycott the upcoming derby against Liverpool in a bid to expel the Glazer family from the club.

A raft of anti-Glazer protests have taken place at Old Trafford in recent years including fans storming the pitch to get the north-west derby abandoned in May 2021.

Once again, the Liverpool game has been earmarked with the August 22 clash subject to an #EmptyOldTrafford protest.

Angry United fans have rallied on social media to encourage others to stay away from the stadium, leaving rows of empty seats in a clear demonstration against the direction the club is going.

One fan wrote: “If you love Manchester United, stay outside Old Trafford. #EmptyOldTrafford.”

Another tweeted: “Short term pain for Long term gain. #EmptyOldTrafford.”

And one commented: “I've not missed a home game in nine years. I'll be missing this one. I'm sick to death of the Glazers. We only have a few things in life we love, I'm not letting that Glazers ruing this one anymore. Man Utd v Liverpool #EmptyOldTrafford.”

Following a 2-1 defeat to Brighton to open up their season, United have failed with a bid for veteran striker Marko Arnautovic and now travel to Brentford before the Liverpool match.
