Paul Pogba teased an announcement on Tuesday - but it's fair to say Manchester United fans didn't see his latest news coming.

Pogba's future at United has been uncertain since summer 2019, when he declared he wanted a new challenge away from Old Trafford.

However, a move to Real Madrid failed to materialise, and the financial impact of coronavirus on the footballing world means an exit is unlikely for the time being.

Since returning from injury to a resurgent United team boasting the talismanic Bruno Fernandes, Pogba has looked more engaged of late - and Champions League qualification has further increased Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's hopes of keeping the World Cup winner in Manchester.

Pogba is yet to sign a new long-term contract with United, but sent Red Devils fans into a frenzy on Tuesday by tweeting one simple word: "Tomorrow."

Some United fans took that to mean he would be putting pen to paper, while others believed it was a potential hint that the club's protracted transfer negotiations with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho had been successful.

Unfortunately for those supporters, Pogba's announcement was a declaration that he has signed for Call of Duty esports team Verdansk Sparks.

Not quite what United fans were expecting, but at least he's not on his way out of Old Trafford...
