Mandatory FIR registration move helped marginalised communities to come forward: Rajasthan ADGP

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Sep 17 (ANI): With rising number of criminal cases, particularly rape cases in Rajasthan, the government had implemented a free registration policy to reduce the delay in proceeding in 2019. The move led to empowerment among women and also helped people from marginalised communities to come forward to report the crime. “Most women have benefited from Rajasthan's decision to make FIR registration free. Women have gained empowerment and confidence as a result of this choice. People from marginalised communities are coming forward”, said Ravi Prakash Meharda, ADGP, Crime Branch, Rajasthan in an interview with ANI.
