Man's body pulled from sea at island beach
A man has been pronounced dead after being pulled from the sea on the Isle of Wight.
Police were called to Compton Beach, near Freshwater, just before 21:45 BST on Wednesday.
Officers confirmed the man, aged 61 and from Brighstone, had died.
The death is being treated as unexpected and a file is being prepared for the coroner, Hampshire and Isle of White Constabulary said.
