Margherita Missoni Is Engaged! What Will She Wear On Her Wedding Day?

Margherita Missoni white dress

After news that Demi Moore is divorcing husband-of-six-years Ashton Kutcher, we bring you a bit of cheer: Margherita Missoni is getting hitched! WWD reports that the youngest daughter of the Missoni clan plans to wed racing driver Eugenio Amos next spring near the Italian town of Sumirago, which houses the company’s headquarters. Naturally, this begs the question, WHAT will she wear?

As heiress and muse of the Italian House, MM has become a shining ambassador for the brand. She can oft be found on the red carpet showcasing the mark of Missoni – aka: zig-zaggy patterns and bright prints – courtesy of her mother’s creations. She’s an avid fan of floor-sweepers too, whether they’re covered in feminine feathers, florals, ruffles or lace, as she proved at this year’s Met Gala when she sported an ombre knit dress from the Autumn / Winter 2011 collection [centre]. All this will make dressing for her wedding day an absolute doddle.

Just like Beyonce whose mother made her wedding dress, odds are on Marg’s mum as the designer of The Dress. In fact, Angela Missoni’s entire A/W '11 collection was bride-appropriate, packed with floaty full-length gowns in pretty pastel colours. 'It's a fairy tale,' said Margherita before the show, so will they make her the fairy tale bride?

More inspiration lies in Missoni’s Spring / Summer 2010 collection [above]. We can totally see Mini Missoni wearing these delicate layers covered in a smattering of paillettes with a string of pearls. OR, considering she recently created M Missoni for OrphanAid Africa, a capsule collection of ready-to-wear and accessories, perhaps the bride-to-be will DIY her own creation?

Either way, we’re predicting a streamlined gown with a sweeping skirt, a touch of colour and air of boho nonchalance. Will it feature knitted zig-zags? Only time will tell...

Driving a $900,000 Porsche 918 Spyder to the future

It’s more than just its inherent speed, or the whooshing noise that fills the cabin like a school choir jamming with James Hetfield. It’s what it represents in an industry full of skeptics. It’s a portal into the future – a time capsule left by some mad scientist born decades too soon. It’s something that shouldn’t exist. And yet it does.

    5 Unanswered Questions About Jesus

As Christians worldwide gather for Easter to celebrate their belief in the death and rebirth of Jesus, researchers continue to delve into the mysteries that surround the man. The following are five questions about Jesus that, for now, at least, remain unanswered. In 2008, astronomer Dave Reneke argued that the Star of Bethlehem (a celestial event long associated with Jesus' birth) may have been Venus and Jupiter coming together to form a bright light in the sky. Other researchers have claimed that a similar conjunction between Saturn and Jupiter occurred in October of 7 B.C. Still others have claimed that Jesus was born in the spring, based on stories about shepherds watching over their flocks in fields on the night of Jesus' birth — something they would have done in the spring, not the winter.
