The pop legend opened up about whether or not she had a ring light in 2003 like Spears mentioned in her book on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, the "We Belong Together" singer, 54, reflected on hearing she was included in the pop star's new memoir when Jimmy Kimmel brought it up.
"By the way, Britney Spears wrote about you in her book. Did you know that?" the host, 55, asked Carey.
"I heard something about it," Carey said about being mentioned in the book, before Kimmel responded: "Do you want to know what she wrote? But don't worry, it's good. It's not bad."
"I love her," the pop icon said of Spears.
Kimmel then read a passage where Spears describes how Carey was using ring lights years before they were popular before asking his guest: "Is it true about the ring lights? You had one in 2003?"
"Of course, I had a ring light," the "Touch My Body" performer replied. "By the way, I wasn't like 'I love a ring light.' By the way, I like a ring light when you cover the bottom edge of the ring light, because for me I don't like under lighting. It's very specific."
She added: "By the way, that was super sweet what Britney said about me."
On Wednesday, Carey continued her tradition of counting down to Christmas with a video of herself being defrosted for the holiday season.
The visual features the date and time changing from ‘October 31 11:59’ to ‘November 1 12:00’ as a vault door swings open to reveal Carey frozen in a block of ice wearing a Mrs. Claus-style jumpsuit.
Then, Carey is defrosted with hairdryers by four people wearing Halloween costumes, including a pumpkin head and a mask from the movie Scream, before Carey exclaims, “It’s time!” in a high-pitched voice.

Her festive classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You" then plays as she prances around in the falling snow alongside her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
“It’s…… TIME!!! 🎃🧊🎄 #MariahSZN,” Carey, who is nicknamed the “Queen of Christmas,” captioned the Instagram video.
The five-time Grammy winner will embark on her Merry Christmas One and All! tour later this month — a 13-date run that will kick off on Nov. 15 in Highland, California, and make stops in Los Angeles, Montreal, Chicago and more.
