Martial Arts, Esports, ‘Apprentice’: What Will ONE Championship Do Next?

When Chatri Sityodtong founded ONE Championship, no one expected the company’s Chairman and CEO to accomplish so much in just over a decade.

Across the last 11 years, however, the Thai native built not only a martial arts promotion – but the largest martial arts organization in the world.

ONE is now home to mixed martial arts, kickboxing, and Muay Thai, and it’s staged some of the greatest fights the world has ever seen.

Who can forget ONE: CENTURY PART I and PART II at the famed Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo during 2019? Or the epic ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX, which featured four World Title bouts smack dab in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic?

Combat sports aside, The Home Of Martial Arts is vested in the world of esports. ONE regularly hosts esports events, including the ONE Esports Singapore Major.

And the action doesn’t stop there.

This past March, ONE launched “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition,” which pits 16 global candidates against each other as they vie for a one-year, US$250,000 contract to work under Sityodtong at ONE’s headquarters in Singapore.

The show is already two episodes in, and the drama and entertainment are living up to expectations.

With that said, what will ONE Championship do next? We can only speculate, but one thing’s for certain – we know what’s coming next week.

ONE on TNT I” airs live on Thursday, 8 April, and features a ONE Flyweight World Title clash between reigning king Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes and 12-time Mixed Martial Arts World Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.

Catch all the action live on the ONE Super App.
