The Masked Singer viewers are convinced that Monster must be Cee Lo Green after the blue, furry creature revealed he was a grandad.

The celebrity hidden inside the costume on the ITV show - which sees stars singing with their identities disguised – dropped a hint about having monsters of his own, who he said also had their own little monsters.

The clue seemed to throw the judges off course, with Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and guest panellist Donny Osmond, who is filling in for Ken Jeong – looking a little doubtful, as Green is only in his 40s.

But Davina McCall insisted that he could still be a grandfather.

Viewers seem to agree, and some enterprising fans even dug up news articles saying that Gnarls Barkley star Green, who is now 44, had become a grandad at 35.

Adding some weight to the theory was the fact that Monster performed a rousing rendition of the Pussycat Dolls song Don’t Cha – which Green produced.

“Cee Lo Green had his first grandchild at 35,” said one person on Twitter. “If that ends up NOT being him I swear I will eat my shoe.”

“No more said, Monster is Ceelo Green,” said another confident viewer.

“Anyone who doesn’t think Monster is CeeLo Green has clearly never seen that episode of American Dad where he’s the hot tub,” said another. “Exact same speaking voice with the voice distortion.

“Also, CeeLo is a grandpa and co-wrote Don’t Cha.”

“Cee Lo Green was the producer for Dont Cha. Monster is definitely him,” said another.

However, Osmond threw a bit of a curve ball when he said he didn’t think Monster was even male.

“I am here to tell you that’s not a man, that’s a woman!” he yelled.

“That was a female voice I think in there.”
