LetsVenture, an India-based online platform connecting startups to investors, recently organised its annual event for angel investors LetsIgnite in Bangalore. Prominent investors and founders, including Kunal Bahl (Snapdeal), Sharad Sharma (iSpirt), Nandan Nilekani (Aadhar Founder), and TV Mohandas Pai (former Infosys CFO) attended the event.

LetsIgnite also provided a platform for 15 curated startups to pitch at its pitching session ‘The Art of Start’. These startups were chosen thorough a startup competition that saw 1,020 applications. These 16 were curated at multiple levels by over 25 angel investors.

Here are the top 16 startups pitched at the event:

SweetsInBox

SweetsInBox brings the curetted handpicked sweet products from the origin to your doorsteps. It delivers authentic regional delicacies from each and every town of India. The startup claims it is not just another e-commerce portal. It takes at-most care in finding the best of the products and vendors.

SayPay

It helps financial institutions transform their fragmented authentications into an enjoyable customer authentication experience using biometric technology. SayPay’s technology eliminates the two-factor authentications using hardware tokens & OTPs by financial institutions in wealth management, corporate payments & retail (Asia/Africa). It has retooled the customer authentication process into an omni-channel experience that offers ultimate security with tokenisation, 3-factor authentication, and out-of-band verification.

BYG

It provides the user the ability to book a fitness session on the go, at a dynamically adjusted price. BYG aims to increase the fitness penetration in India with its convenience, flexibility and customer first approach. By gamifying fitness and applying positive peer pressure, BYG will motivate new users to pursue fitness.

Findmeashoe

Findmeashoe.com is a footwear recommendation portal that aims to improve shopping efficiency and experience of footwear shoppers. It helps consumers find the right fitting footwear in seconds using its proprietary algorithm. Consumers can register by creating a digital foot profile as an one-time activity. Once on board, the end user can try footwear models virtually using our fitting service at findmeashoe.com as well as with our partnering retailers.

appICE

It helps you manage your user’s life-cycle journey across acquisition, usage, behaviour, engagement and churn to deliver contextual personalised experiences. appICE enables app marketers to engage with their users based on who is doing what at where and when to deliver contextual personalised experiences, which increase engagement and helps optimise their marketing spends.

IntensAquatica

It is building a high-end technology solution to culture (grow) edible fish intensively. The technology approach is expected in increase the yield from conventional four tons/acre to anywhere in the range of 100 to 250 tons/acre. This is possible mainly due to maintaining chemical and biological water parameters which deteriorate badly and reach toxic levels if fish are stocked at high density.

Ressy

It is a customer-on-demand app designed for the services industry to manage their capacity. In simple words, it is introducing real-time discounts ( similar to yield management models of airline and hospitality industry across the service industry). Ressy has a merchant side application which helps the merchants to float dynamic discounts depending upon their available capacity and a user side application which helps customers to avail the discounts and pay directly using the application.

Truckola

It is the Uber for long-distance, inter-state transportation. Transportation in India is approximately a US$200 billion industry that is largely unorganised, fragmented and inefficient leading to extremely high costs and a frustrating experience overall. Truckola is attempting to disrupt the industry by making transportation services as efficient as booking a taxi on your phone.

Citizengage

It manages a waste-to-resource network by connecting waste producers to collectors and processing facilities who use waste as a resource. The platform uses technology not only to integrate the informal sector that manages waste in India but to manage operations in real-time and generate data about the quantity and quality of waste produced at each collection point.

CareOnGo

It is a mobile chain of co-branded pharmacies building trust in the pharmacy ecosystem. Being a B2B player focussed on solving the issues of authenticity and availability in the market, it is an e-distributor providing unified procurement to co-branded pharmacies along with analytics at all stages of the supply chain.

CheckGaadi

It is committed to bringing trust and convenience in the automobile space. It provides impartial and hassle free vehicle inspection services to customers and help them make informed choices.

MyVote.Today

It is a polling app which aims to improve the quality of democracy in India and other select nations, by way of citizens voting on ‘concerns that matter and matters that concern’ – in order to influence governance at the local and national level. MVT crowdsources and curates important topics on a PIN code, city, state and national level. Each user gets one #DailyPoll to vote on. MVT aims to convert important and actionable issues into petitions addressed to relevant individuals or organisations, so that governance truly becomes by the people, for the people — where people, actually have a say.

Whodat

It is an Augmented Reality company that works on interactive products that helps furniture shoppers visualise a product in their home so they can make a more informed decision before buying it!

Supr Daily

It is is a subscription brand for daily needs like milk, bread, eggs, coconut water etc. The company began operations around six months back in Mumbai and now delivers 20,000-plus orders every month thereby processing 25 tonnes of milk each month.

Qiddle

It is an exclusive mom’s only mobile app. A community network for neighbourhood moms
having similar age kids. Qiddle is a an opportunity that its founders thought of for moms who don’t have time, have too many dependents and go to too many resources for solutions. The founders of qiddle envisaged the app to be a platform that allows moms to address their needs with one qiddle – personal, social, commerce, knowledge, even entertainment – all in one go.

UnCanny

It is a technology company focused on computer vision on embedded systems. Its toolkit increases the performance of your computer vision algorithms multifold. It claims to give speed improvement in the order of 2 to 20 times. UncannyVision has two products: UncannyCV ( a computer vision/image processing library that uses algorithm optimisations, data-prefetching and Neon instructions to achieve speed-ups in performance varying from as low as 2x to as high as 20x), and UncannyDL (an on-device deep learning library for mobile and embedded applications)
