Meet the daredevil aiming to break the speed record for monowheels

Tom Anable designs and builds his own monowheels - and aims to create a version capable of more than 200mph which will smash the land speed record for single-wheel vehicles.

Tom put his incredible device through its paces at the Classic Car Boot Sale in London recently.

He built his initial monowheel in 2007 and over seven iterations it has evolved into a 1930s-inspired machine. Here he explains his inspiration behind his oddball passion and puts on a masterful display of balance.
