A-Mei reportedly blacklisted from Taipei Arena

17 Nov - Rumours are rife that A-Mei has been blacklisted by the management of the Taipei Arena Stadium following previous complaints about her April concert.

As reported on Epoch Times, the singer, who made two applications to hold new shows at the venue this year, found herself being rejected twice, after her last show provoked protests from residents near the area.

Residents claimed that the singer's show not only disrupted their sleep, especially when it went on over the time limit, but that her fans jumping around supposedly have also caused the ground to shake.

It was reported that A-Mei was not the only performer who was blacklisted by the Taipei Arena. South Korean group Big Bang and hip-hop band G.U.T.S have also been barred from performing at the location.

A-Mei's rep Chen stated that the singer is hoping for a better solution to the problem, in which both the performer and the residents around the area can come to an agreement.

Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je has also called for an investigation and for proper method of handling applications.
