Mercedes-Benz unveiled the new E-Class Coupe in Singapore on Thursday (21 September). The latest model from the luxury brand is positioned as a stylish sports car coupled with impressive technology.

The E-Class Coupe comes with full smartphone integration by means of “capacitative aerial coupling” and wireless charging. This means that compatible mobile phones can be charged wirelessly and can also be connected to the vehicle’s exterior aerial.

The vehicle can also be equipped with an infotainment system called COMAND Online, which allows the use of Apple’s smartphone-based infotainment system, CarPlay.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the new coupe comes with an Active Brake Assist feature that warns the driver of an imminent collision, provides optimum support with emergency braking, and can apply the brakes autonomously if necessary. It can also detect pedestrians crossing in the “danger zone” ahead of the vehicle.

Other autonomous driving features includes Distance DISTRONIC, which keeps the car at the correct length behind and in front of vehicles on all types of roads.

The driver can also move the vehicle remotely into and out of garages as well as parking spaces with the use of a smartphone app, enabling the occupants to enter or exit the car easily even when space is very tight.

The vehicle’s Air Body Control multi-chamber air suspension makes for a more comfortable ride. It is augmented by a continuous, electronically controlled adaptive damping system, which automatically adjusts individual wheels to suit the current driving situation and condition of the road.

The new Coupe is priced from $282,888 inclusive of COE. Price is valid until 5 October.
