Michael Jackson's children Prince and Paris pay tribute to uncle Tito following Jackson 5 singer's death
Michael Jackson’s children Prince and Paris Jackson have paid tribute to their uncle Tito following his sudden death at the age of 70 on September 15.
The Jackson 5 founding member and Michael's older brother passed away from a suspected heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma,family friend and former Jackson family manager Steve Manning told Entertainment Tonight.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Monday, Paris, 26, shared a throwback photo of her late father - who passed away in June 2009 - and Tito, which she captioned: “Rest in transition Uncle Tito,” along with a red heart emoji.
Meanwhile, Prince, 27, shared a group family photo on his Instagram which included several members of the famous family surrounding Jackson matriarch Katherine.
“Love you forever Poppa T,” he wrote alongside the image.
Tito is survived by his three sons Taj, 41, Taryll, 39, and TJ, 46 - who were in the band 3T - and nine grandchildren.
TJ shared some loving words in response to Prince’s post in the comments section, writing: “He always spoke so highly about you Prince and was so proud of the man you have become and your love for family. Thank you for being such a great nephew to him.”
The Jackson 5 included brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael.
The family group, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, produced several No 1 hits in the 1970s including ABC, I Want You Back and I'll Be There.
Tito was last pictured on September 9 in Munich, Germany six days before his death - ahead of a performance by The Jacksons' current line-up, also featuring brothers Jackie and Marlon Jackson.
