21 Feb – Michele Gumabao is determined to finally win the Miss Universe crown this year, after representing the Philippines in the Miss Globe pageant back in 2018.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the volleyball star who is competing in the first ever Miss Universe Philippines pageant (which was previously part of the Binibining Pilipinas organisation), stated that her goal right now is to be Miss Universe.
"It feels better the second time around, but I do admit it still gets me nervous. I still feel I'm new at it, but [I'm] really just excited about everything that's going to happen," she said.
Gumabao attributed her return to the pageant circuit as destiny and God's will for her.
"I had a lot of signs that I waited for, and asked for, and I prayed for, and it all happened. Everything is really aligning, everything is falling into place. A lot of people put in their support, their words of encouragement and faith in me and that's what really inspired me to go one more time," she said.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on 3 May.
