Former First Lady Michelle Obama and superstar Jennifer Lopez spent yesterday remembering the political icon that is Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Per The Hill, during an Instagram Live chat for Obama's When We All Vote initiative, the two women shared their favorite personal memories of the late Supreme Court justice.

"Barack and I were privileged to call her a friend. We had dinner with her and her husband. I have always been moved by her story of how she had a family, raised a family, then went back to law school, and [still] faced a level of discrimination," began Obama during the chat. "[She was] top of her class and came in guns blazing, but she was cast aside."

Lopez chimed in with her own Ginsburg memories, recalling the time that she and her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, met with Ginsburg and spoke about what it takes to ensure a long-lasting marriage. Married to the love of her life, Martin D. Ginsburg, for 56 years until his death in 2010, Ginsburg gave the couple "some good advice," Lopez shared.

Though Lopez didn't dive into specifics during the chat, she did look back on her meeting with the Supreme Court justice, sharing a heartfelt Instagram post over the weekend.

"Throughout my life, I've been fortunate to meet so many amazing people … but there's those select few where there's an instinct inside you that tells you to pay close attention. And I did. When I met her I was hanging on to her every word," wrote Lopez.

"I will always remember what she said to us the day we met her: 'Be the best you.' It was simple yet profound. Thank you RBG for fighting all these years. We will honor you by continuing to fight for equality, empathy and justice for all."
