Michelle Pfeiffer, 61, has revealed the diet and exercise regime behind her age-defying beauty – including 3am wake-ups and restrictive diets.
The actor has been known throughout her career for her good looks, having played her romantic leads in the likes of ‘Grease 2’ and ‘The Age of Innocence’.
She regularly shares barefaced selfies and full-length shots on her Instagram account (she joined the platform earlier this year).
And it’s clear she has retained her slim figure and pretty looks.
So what’s the routine behind her continued youthfulness? In an interview with The Sunday Times Style supplement, Pfeiffer revealed she has followed a number of trendy diets in the past: “I went through a vegan phase,” she tells the publication, adding that she is now “paleoish”.
The Paleo diet, also known as the Paleolithic diet or caveman diet, is a modern diet based around foods which could be obtained by hunting and gathering in the Paleolithic era, according to the Mayo Clinic website. It typically involves eating solely typically includes lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
As for exercise, Pfeiffer says she dabbles in “a bit of yoga [and] a bit of Pilates” as well as walking, running and biking.
She is also a morning person, waking “with the sunrise” – a quality which is typically associated with a lower BMI, according to science.
However, the actor does allow herself one regular indulgence, and that’s alcohol, settling down with “wine or tequila” in the evenings.
Another celebrity who seemingly defies the ravages of age is Elizabeth Hurley.
The 54-year-old smothers herself in Creme de la Mer SPF 50 UV Protecting Fluid to help protect her smooth skin from the damaging effects of the skin.
