Microsoft debuts universal keyboard for smartphones and tablets

Arriving in stores this October, the Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard is compatible not only with Windows but also with Android and iOS.

The new accessory can be paired with up to three smartphones or tablets with different mobile operating systems. One of the Universal Mobile Keyboard's more original characteristics is that it accommodates each platform's specific commands, such as the Windows button and the Android home button.

A simple switch lets the user toggle between Windows, Android and iOS. Microsoft also claims that the battery life enables six months of use on a single charge, although the total number of hours was not specified.

The Universal Mobile Keyboard will go on sale in October for $79.95 in the US.
