This year, Microsoft's annual Office 365 press event will be completely online as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
On Tuesday, Microsoft began sending out invitations to its annual Office press event; instead of hosting an in-person event in New York as usual, however, the meeting will take place online.
The invitation states the event is intended to show people how to be "more productive across work, life, and family;" therefore, it's not likely new hardware will be introduced. Instead, the focus will be on new and upcoming Office 365 tools and features and possibly a more lifestyle-oriented version of the suite.
Rumors suggest that a Surface event will be held this spring, but the company has yet to confirm it. If such an event does take place, it will likely be a fully digital one considering that this Office event and the annual Build conference have both officially become online-only shows.
The press event will take place on March 30 at 11AM ET.
