Mikey Moore responds to 'Neymar' tag in exciting message to Tottenham fans

Tottenham’s Mikey Moore is looking to kick on after teammate James Maddison jokingly compared him to Brazilian great Neymar.

The 17-year-old winger made his Premier League debut back in May and has since gone on to make eight appearances for the first-team at Spurs this season.

There is huge excitement about the teenager, who has backed up some of the promise he showed during pre-season with some fine performances in the Europa League.

Moore impressed away at Ferencvaros in his full debut for the club, playing a part in both of their goals in the 2-0 win in Budapest back in October.

That was followed by yet another dazzling display against AZ Alkmaar later that month. Moore proved outstanding in the second-half on the left flank, creating a number of chances before going off to a standing ovation.

Such was the level of his performance, Maddison joked: “From minute 45 to 65, I thought we had Neymar on the left wing.”

Naturally, Moore is eager to play down such comparisons, telling the club’s official website: “For me, personally, I always want to create that excitement in the crowd. When I got the ball I was thinking I'm going to beat my man or try to make something happen and I felt that from the fans, manager and players whenever I had the ball - it was a top game.

“Doing that at home and playing in front of our crowd in that stadium was a dream come true. I know Madders came out after the game with a big compliment but I’m not sure about that just yet! It's obviously nice to hear but that was only one game so there's still a lot more to do.”

Moore will hope to be involved when the Premier League returns from the international break on Saturday 23 November as Spurs prepare to welcome Manchester City, having missed the last two games due to illness.
