  • Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's divorce was just finalized.

  • This means Miley and Liam are both legally single.

Today is a real sad day for eternal shippers of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. After 10 years of on-again, off-again dating, one broken engagement, and a dissolved marriage, Miley and Liam can now put their pasts as husband and wife behind them for good. Why? Because as of today, Miley and Liam's divorce is finalized, meaning they are officially single in the eyes of the law. I know this is pretty upsetting, so I'll give you a moment.

Entertainment Tonight confirmed the news through online records from the Los Angeles Superior Court, where a judge reportedly signed off on the divorce settlement. In layman's terms, this means that Miley and Liam no longer have any legal ties to one another.

When Liam filed for divorce in August, TMZ reported that Liam cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason why his marriage to Miley marriage ended. The outlet also revealed the former couple had a prenuptial agreement with one another, meaning that their earnings and financial assets stayed separate. Since Miley and Liam had no children, TMZ hypothesized that the split would be rather uncomplicated...which is probably why this wrapped up in such a short amount of time.

In case you forgot, one thing that Miley will be getting from the divorce is all the pets that she and Liam used to take care of. Together, Miley and Liam owned seven dogs, three cats, two horses, two mini horses (Aren't mini horses just ponies? No?), and one pig. Sure, it's sounds just a little messed up that Miley will have all the animals to herself, but at the time, TMZ reported that Liam could fight for joint custody under Californian law if he really wanted to. He chose not to.

Welp, if you need me, I will be using every single ounce of my strength to stop myself from watching The Last Song for the ten-millionth time since their breakup. Please respect my privacy during this difficult time.
