Following the success of his latest song Megahit, Cantopop boy band Mirror’s Anson Lo has just dropped a remix version titled Megahit Megamix.

The remix features an entirely new set of rap lyrics – in English, no less – written by the singer himself.

Here's a section of the lyrics:

See you, touch you, been meeting you
I wanna know you, feel you, been getting clues
Thinkin' bout you like all the time
We're gonna fire up, stir up like in no time
This is the feel that we're havin'
This is the song that we're vibin'
Participation is the setting
No one knows us right here while we're chillin'

As the song Megahit conveys the message of how people can overcome their differences in relationships through communication, Lo said in his Instagram story on Wednesday (1 December) that he had penned the English rap lyrics in response to Megahit by focusing on communication in romantic relationships.

“It describes the feelings of wooing the other party, and convincing the other party,” he explained. “I hope everyone will like this new rendition.”

Although there is no music video for Megahit Megamix currently, Lo has shared a 16-second concept video for the remix on his Instagram. The teaser features Lo in a simple monochrome, paired with Megahit’s earworm phrase “uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh”.

His fans have found the remix song refreshingly special, and love it when Lo sings in English. Others were impressed by his self-written English rap lyrics, which seemingly emit masculinity.

Megahit Megamix marks the second time Lo has penned the lyrics for his own songs. The first was his second solo single Burn Out, released in August 2020.
