The top 100 delegates for the Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) 2021 edition were announced on Monday (July 19).

MUP revealed the 100 ladies who qualified for the coveted national beauty competition in a series of Facebook posts. "Universe, here is the last group of ladies to complete our official delegates for this year’s pageant. Who will be our next queens? Let the games begin!," they captioned.

Hundreds of young women from all walks of life with varying degrees of pageant experience sent in their applications from all over the country. All of these hopefuls met with organizers in mid-July for virtual interviews.

There were some notable pageant veterans, a slew of provincial and regional queens, and quite a few pageant newbies. Nevertheless, everyone was ecstatic to take part in the screening process.

Some familiar names on the list include Miss Globe 2019 2nd runner-up Leren Mae Bautista, Miss Supranational 2018 1st runner-up Katrina Dimaranan, actress Kisses Delavin, and Asia’s Next Top Model season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz.

The pageant will begin with all 100 delegates for this year's edition. They will face various remote challenges in the weeks to come. Based on votes from the Miss Universe Philippines mobile app, they will be whittled down to 75, then once more to 50.

These 50 candidates will be flown to Metro Manila for face-to-face interviews with MUP. On August 31, 30 official candidates will be chosen from the 50. They will compete live and in-person during the coronation night scheduled on September 25.

The newly-crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 will be crowned by Rabiya Mateo, who ended her Miss Universe journey in the top 21.
