The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA will limit the passage of small trucks beginning Wednesday, March 15.
This is expected to ease traffic woes.
Based on a resolution issued by the MMDA, trucks with a gross capacity of 4,500 kilograms and lower will be covered by the truck ban.
“Basically, what will happen is that the light trucks, we have counted, they numbered more than 3,000 a day. That’s in EDSA alone. What we will do is not a total ban, but ban them during peak hours. Other than that, they are not banned”, said MMDA General Manager Thomas Orbos.
Light trucks will not be allowed to traverse Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City and Pasig City, aside from EDSA. – UNTV News and Rescue
