Modern Family's season 10 finale delivered one of its most emotional episodes ever, as Haley Dunphy gave birth to twins.

In the 11th and final season of the show, the actress hasn't appeared quite as much, and actress Sarah Hyland isn't afraid to say she's a bit disappointed with what her character got up to in the last run.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, the actress said she would much rather see Haley "own her badassery in the fashion world – becoming a badass stylist or brand mogul or anything like that".

It's not that she's against a young woman becoming a mother, it's just that she adds: "There are so many amazing mothers who are also hard workers and excel at their jobs and kill it every day in both aspects.

"That would have been a really cool thing to see, especially from someone like Haley."

The final ever episode of the show will air in the US tomorrow (Wednesday, April 8), bringing an end to 11 years of comedy, relatable drama, and one of the warmest shows on television.

Speaking about the finale, actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson said: "I think it's going to be really emotional to watch it on television. Now that I don't have anywhere to go, I've been able to sit down and watch the show in real time, which I haven't been able to do before.

"So I think it'll be interesting to watch it while all of our fans are watching it for the first time."

Modern Family's series finale will air in the US on April 8 on ABC. The show airs on Sky One and NOW TV in the UK.
