School fees for international and permanent resident students in both government and government-aided schools will increase from January 2016, said the Ministry of Education (MOE) in a statement on Wednesday.

The quantum of increase for international students will be between $20 to $150 each month and is part of the ministry’s periodic review of school fees as well as efforts to further differentiate fees by citizenship, MOE said.

Meanwhile, school fees for permanent resident students will increase by $20 to $60 each month. Fees for Singaporean students  and standard miscellaneous fees remain unchanged.

The previous school fee revision happened in 2013. At that time, fees for PR students increased by $50 - $80 per month while fees for international students went up by $115-$250.
