JOHOR BAHRU: The face of the 11-year-old tahfiz student Mohamad Thaqif Amin Mohd Gaddafi had an extraordinary glow as if he was smiling radiantly after he breathed his last at the Sultan Ismail Hospital here yesterday, said former Johor Mufti Datuk Nooh Gadut.
Nooh, who turned up at the hospital with several officers from the State Islamic Religious Council (MAINJ) to pay their last respects to the student yesterday, said: “I noticed that his face was glowing extraordinarily.
It is true that whoever recites the Quran will shine with the light of the Quran and it was evident on Mohamad Thaqif Amin’s face.
“He had this radiant, smiling face like he was a happy living soul. That’s the benefit of people who read the Quran,” the MAINJ adviser told reporters after officiating the fifth Multaqa Ulama” Darul Takzim in conjunction with the 2017 birthday of the Sultan of Johor at Persada Johor, here today.
He was also impressed to learn that Mohamad Thaqif had harboured hopes to memorise 30 chapters of the Quran. “I hope everyone, the schools and other parties will be more aware and will learn from this incident,” he said, adding that the Johor Islamic Religious Department would soon call all tahfiz school principals for a briefing to bring improvements to tahfiz school education and management, including staff recruitment procedures to be followed by the institutions. -- BERNAMA
